Residential
Residential Overview
SailFuture operates two residential homes in St. Petersburg, Florida licensed by the Department of Children and Families. Each home accommodates 6 youth between the ages of 13 – 17.
Unlike most residential programs, SailFuture engages youth in comprehensive and high-impact programming designed specifically for high-risk teens.
Our comprehensive includes 60-day sailing journeys throughout the world, adventure-based mental health counseling, practical job training, and a hands-on technical high school.
Our homes are led by passionate live-in parents, who are talented professionals from unique industries and backgrounds. There are no shift staff.
To enter the program, youth are invited to in-person or FaceTime visits to learn more about the home and our adults. Youth interview us as much as we do them; it’s their choice to live here.

- Monday – Friday: 6:00AM – 10:00PM
- Saturday – Sunday: 6:00AM – 10:00PM
Open 363 Days a Year
Closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day
SailFuture’s residential program provides a variety of specialized treatments including:
International Sailing Expeditions
Youth navigate a 65-ft racing boat through the Caribbean and the Americas, participating in service projects and hands-on learning projects in every port of call.
Private High School
While at SailFuture, youth attend SailFuture’s private high school with 1:6 class sizes instead of getting lost in the public school system.
Adventure-based Therapy
Youth receive daily support from a counselor they learn to trust through shared experience, travel, and true mentorship.
Extended Foster Care
2-bedroom apartments within walking distance from SailFuture’s homes and continued support after your 18th birthday.
Job Training and Support
Maritime, culinary, and construction skills training integrated into school and sailing expeditions + paid apprenticeships on the boat and at home.
